Lanyards are the most economical way of wearing IDs or tags, keeping your keys handy, or just about anything you can wear on a hook. Lanyards are also used by most school and university students and faculty to wear their respective identification cards while inside the campus.
So you want to buy printed lanyards, but where do you start? Here are some points that would help buyers decide as to which lanyards to purchase.
For most buyers, marginal savings is very important. That’s why, buyers who purchase bulk orders of custom lanyards do not care much of the kind of materials, but more about the price or cost that might be incurred.
For example, schools’ lanyards are being consigned or outsourced from a supplier. The school solely distributes the printed ID lanyards to students and faculty, hence they are not are not very particular with its marketability. The students and faculty will have no choice but buy lanyards from the school’s bookstore.
But for some companies who use customised lanyards as giveaways or tokens during seminars and conventions, a good lanyard is a must. Gifts of any form usually make an impression about the giver. So, a good lanyard creates an impression of high quality company.
In terms of differentiating each kind of lanyard, materials used greatly affects the lanyard’s value. Most printed lanyards we see in stores are made from nylon. It is the cheapest among others and the easiest material to prepare a lanyard. Because of its quality, designs and logo details are highly engraved on the thread of nylon.
The next option is the woven lanyard. It can be printed with logos and designs, but the materials are made from polyester fabric, woven together to form a lanyard. Woven lanyards are proven to hold design and logo for longer period, making it very appropriate for school and work place. However, due to woven difficulties, engraving a design and logo into woven fabric is pretty challenging and costs too much labor.
Another lanyard option is polyester lanyards, not the woven type. The design and logo are printed using silk screen, making the designing part a tedious task.
Yet another option is the sublimated lanyard, the most customizable of all lanyard materials. Dye sublimation requires a lot of heat to make the print and logo be printed on the lanyard. One benefit of the sublimated lanyard is the resistance of the lanyard out of dye sublimation. This dye sublimated lanyards are not ordinary. It can withstand heat and rain, as well the UV rays. It is fade-proof, crack proof and peel proof.
But before you settle for buying a bulk order of lanyards, it would be best if you could call the company and ask any questions you have first to make sure you’ll truly get what you need and want.
